Patch-cord, 2mm LC/UPC-LC/UPC
Fiber optic patch cords are fiber optic cables used to attach one device to another for signal routing. It is one of most commonly used components in fiber optic network. Generally there are two types of fiber optic patch cords: single mode and multimode fiber optic patch cords. Here the word mode means the transmitting mode of the fiber optic light in the fiber optic cable core. Usually single mode fiber optic patch cord is with 9/125 fiber glass and is yellow jacket color; multimode fiber optic patch cord is with 50/125, 62.5/125 or 100/1150 fiber glass and is orange color.
REG offers a variety of leading fiber patch cables, also known as fiber jumpers or fiber patch cords. Single-mode fiber cable is primarily used for applications involving extensive distances. Multimode fiber, however, is the cable of choice for most common local fiber systems as the devices for multimode are far cheaper. The common core sizes of multimode fiber are OM1 62.5 micron and 50 micron in OM2 or 10 Gigabit Laser Optimized OM3, which are OM1 62.5/125 Fiber Patch Cable, OM2 50/125 Fiber Patch Cable, 10G OM3 Fiber Patch Cable respectively. We carry single-mode and multimode optical fiber patch cables with a variety of connector types such as LC, SC, ST, and MTRJ
